SUBMITTED PHOTO Ridley Park Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School was enhanced by over 35 youth helpers who volunteered a week of their summer to help teach over 150 children from the community about how God can rescues them when they are lonely, worried, struggling, or powerless. Ridley Park Presbyterian Church will have their Sunday School kick-off, followed by family picnic, food and fun 10 a.m. Sunday, September 9. Everyone is welcome. Community invited to corn boil

American Legion Post 777 will host their annual corn boil 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 on the post grounds, 137 Walter St., Crum Lynne. The event will be held, rain or shine, and includes hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, beans, salads, corn and desserts, as well as a fifty-fifty drawing. The corn boil is the post’s major fundraiser of the year and all proceeds support the post. Tickets are available at the collection table on the day of the event.
