shoes Black Warning about baseball

Zobrist sent a letter to Major League Baseball and posted it on his Instagram page, along with photos of the spikes and the Major League Baseball letter, calling it "ridiculous" to protest his shoes.

Chicago Cubs star Ben Zobrist likes to wear all-black cleats to home games - a statement he intentionally makes to commemorate the uniforms of years past.

Zobrist said he's used the black cleats the last two seasons.

CHICAGO - Cubs infielder-outfielder Ben Zobrist every now and then sports one of the most old-school looks in baseball when he wears stirrup socks and black spikes.

Zobrist enjoys paying tribute to the history of the game and he may know more about Cubs lore than any other player in the clubhouse given he grew up in Central Illinois. The day before, Zobrist posted an open letter and a collage of photos on an Instagram account that has 306,000 followers and sent it out again to his 200,000 followers on Twitter, guaranteeing it would go viral.

But according to the MLB, Zobrist's footwear choice does not comply with the league's uniform regulations, which require that at least 51 percent of a shoe's exterior be the color designated by the player's team.

When contacted for comment, Major League Baseball issued a statement citing the collectively bargained shoe regulations in the CBA. "We have informed the union that we are prepared to negotiate rules providing players with more flexibility, and that issue is now being discussed as part of a larger discussion about apparel and equipment".

Rizzo commented with praise hand emojis, Fowler told Zobrist to "tell em" and Denton wrote the following: "You're the man Zo!" He is 10 for 15 with three doubles, two triples, three homers, 11 RBIs and five runs scored in his past three games. "I like when guys are confident and not in a hurry, and that's what I saw with him, too".
