TOWN OF BELOIT - An armed subject robbed Hanson's Bar and Grill, 615 Cranston Road, this morning, Friday, May 4.

Town of Beloit police, with assistance from the City of Beloit Police Department, Rock County Sheriff's Office and Winnebago County Illinois K-9 Unit, arrived at the restaurant at about 9:55 a.m. to investigate the reported robbery.

An employee said the suspect walked into the business, pointed a gun, directed two employees into a walk-in cooler, and took their cell phones while the suspect directed a third employee to empty the cash register. After the suspect obtained the undisclosed amount of money the suspect directed this employee into the walk-in cooler with the other employees and told them to remain there for a specific amount of time. After the specified time passed the employees called 911.

Responding officers cleared the building with a K9 and attempted to track the suspect. It is unknown if the suspect left on foot or in a vehicle. However, all three cell phones taken from the employees were found on the side of the road in the 1400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in the City of Beloit.

The suspect is described as a lighter skinned black male, approximately 6 feet, 1 inch tall and of medium build. The suspect was wearing a black/gray speckled hooded sweat shirt with matching sweatpants and what appear to be dark colored hi-top shoes. The suspect was also wearing a black baseball cap under his hood and a white colored handkerchief over his face.

The suspect was armed with what appeared to be a black semi automatic handgun.

No one was injured during the incident. However, the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked toe contact the Town of Beloit Police Department at 608-364-2984.
