K-Swiss recently collaborated with A Bathing Ape (BAPE) on their AAPE offshoot project for a camo alliteration of the Classis '66, which is dropping this week. The collaboration features the classic tennis shoes with the signature style of BAPE for their 50th Anniversary celebration.

Anyone who grew up in the 90's knew how big K-Swiss is, which can be seen on every sole of the cool kids on the block. The company is an American footwear company that started in 1966 where their Classic '66 is named after. In line with their 50th Anniversary celebration, K-Swiss also collaborated with Japanese streetwear label A Bathing Ape, popularly known as BAPE, in dropping the Classic '66 tennis shoes with a camouflage pattern and the iconic ape logo.

The AAPE x K-Swiss features the original five stripe branding of K-Swiss, D-Rings, and three-piece toe design on the classic tennis shoe with both the AAPE and K-Swiss logo stamped, and of course, the infamous AAPE camouflage.  said that the Classic 66 was the first leather tennis shoes to be worn at major Grand Slam tournament.

The Classic ‘66 model was originally introduced in 1966 as one of the first leather tennis shoes debuted in the majors. This time we are bringing back this iconic silhouette with the exact specifications and design of the original model, featuring the iconic five stripes, classic D-rings, unique three-piece toe design as well as the original shield logo branding. The all-over printed AAPE signature camouflage set the tone of this Classic ‘66 while the iconic AAPE BY A BATHING APE® branding on the stripe marks a perfect combination of AAPE and K-Swiss. #newrelease #aapexkswiss #10dec @kswiss @kswisshk #aape #aapebyabathingape #ithk @ithk

Aside from that, the company recently partnered with different designers to iterate the Classic '66. According to Kicks On Fire, first Japanese designer they collab with was Takeo Kikuchi who gave the shoes some vintage look with an off-white sole. The next design was created by Journal Standard, which has a navy suede material and a white sole. To give the classic some twist, the company partnered with SHIPS for the third pair, which was a dress blue leather shoes. Finally, they teamed up with Urban Research Doors to create a synthetic suede with tonal black soles for the overall aesthetic.

Reports say the shoes will drop on December 15 with a price tag of $140 a pair. What do you think about this limited edition AAPE X K-Swiss Classic '66 camouflage shoes?
