"Back To The Future 2" Nike shoes are real.

Social media was flooded with "Back To The Future 2" memes and posts welcoming Marty McFly and Doc into 2015. This is reminiscent of the Oct. 21, 2015 date that they travelled to in the film. While some of what was assumed in the film became reality in 2015, there may be some things that might have left Marty and the Doc disappointed.

"The first pair of self-lacing Nike MAG shoes is in New York City," said a Nike representative to Engadget.

For those who aren't familiar with this shoe concept, the self-lacing "Back To The Future 2" Nike shoes were inspired by the film version of Marty McFly's power-laced Nike sneakers. The shoes are allegedly supposed to lace themselves once they are worn, however, Nike made some adjustments and made the shoes lace themselves with a click of a button.

Apart from the power to lace themselves, the "Back To The Future 2" Nike Shoes also come with LED lights on the sole and parts of the shoe.

The shoes made their debut to the world when Fox made a guest appearance on the "David Letterman Show" back in 2011, but these were not the shoes that could actually lace themselves nor were they the pair scheduled to be released next year. However, a video that was uploaded on the Youtube channel for The Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Research showed Fox trying out the first self-lacing Nike MAG.

In other news, Michael J. Fox reprised his role as Marty McFly with Christopher Lloyd as Doc on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" where they made a grand entrance in a DeLorean time machine right on stage. Their entrance drew cheers and standing ovations from the live audience with their special appearance just to celebrate the iconic Oct. 21, 2015 date. They also reveled at how much had actually changed in the future with talk of smartphones, selfies, and other things.

"Back To The Future 2" is an American Sci-Fi film released in 1989 and is the second film installment in the "Back To The Future" trilogy. Doc makes his way from the future to get Marty McFly and his girlfriend Jennifer Parker to go to the future with him and fix what happens to their future offspring.
