Here is the LONG LIST of why I'm doing this... There are 3 reasons...

1. All the things I can't do because I'm so overweight: kayak with friends (I've been invited many times but I'm over the 250 pound limit, can't wait till I can go), golf (I can't even walk 8 holes let along golf - looking forward to being able to golf 18 holes with my husband without huffing & puffing), Shop in regular stores (I'll someday have fun shopping in Macy's, Ross, etc), Hiking (my sons & husband go but I can't even walk up our driveway - hill but it will be awesome when we can all go for a hike to see waterfalls!), Restaurant booths (it's embarrassing to HAVE to ask for a table - someday I won't have to), Cars/Airplanes currently I don't fit in a lot of peoples vehicles seat belts and have to have an extension for airplane.

2. All the things I can do but it would be so much easier without carrying around an extra 167 pounds every second of everyday: putting on socks & shoes, Volleyball and other sports, Walking, putting swimsuit on, stand, shop with friends, up and down stairs, food prep, help at big events, fit in theater seats for movies, socialize.

3. To prolong or avoid future health problems from being overweight which would effect my quality of life: hip/knee/back problems, kidney/heart/liver/eye problems, becoming less active or inactive, wheelchair. I am fortunate not to have any physical limitations (no knee/hip/back problems) especially being so overweight.

I have everything I need to live a healthy active lifestyle! So fortunate ~ my husband & I built a gym out our back door (we don't live where you can walk outside and the weather is often not good). The gym provides year around walking, volleyball, basketball, badminton, giant shuffle board, or any other sport. Plus we have a hot tub that I am short enough to do an exhausting thigh workout in (bicycle movement) as well as relax sore muscles in. I have wt bench, barbells, and total gym machine. We have adult sons so no younger children to take care of and I don't work so I have the freedom to do whatever I want to all day/night. My supportive husband; who is a "normal" weight and has coached sports all his life (currently coaches golf and basketball). This awesome Sparkpeople website and app for all my social, tracking, and teams support. I do the food shopping and cooking so it's my decisions what is in the kitchen. AND I am grateful that I have no physical limitations (lots of people my obese weight have knee, hip, back, heart problems). I AM SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED TO LIVE AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE RIGHT HERE AT MY HOME!!!
