Hedgehog Movie released Inspires immediately

First Sonic the Hedgehog movie poster released, immediately inspires nightmares

A feature-length "Sonic the Hedgehog" movie will hit theatres in 2019, and we just got our first taste of the fan-favourite character's new look in the film.

Those eager to usher in the end of all things are sharing their own renditions of what they believe may be hidden in Sonic's shadow.

Sonic The Hedgehog is coming to a cinema near you in late 2019, and I've made a vlog about it, below...

Whether you want it to exist or not, The Fast and the Furious producer's Sonic the Hedgehog film is now in production.

The movie's production team has explained that, as seen in the poster, they wish to give Sonic a more "realistic" look, giving him fur and less cartoon-y shoes.

It remains to be seen what the actual movie will feature in terms of plot and cringe, but if you're looking forward to seeing Sonic translated to the real world, you may be in for a bit of a letdown if this first look is any indication. We've worked so closely with the people at SEGA who are kind of the gatekeepers of Sonic to make sure we're lockstep.

"It would be really weird and unusual that he runs around being naked, whereas there is a kind of otter".

The poster shows a silhouette of the speedy blue gaming icon, in a stance resembling short-distance runners on their marks at the Olympics, with much detail given to the shape of the beloved hedgehog's arms and legs. Miller noted that "keeping it grounded and keeping it realistic" was of utmost importance, because if the character could do anything, "nothing is special". "We had some time to figure out the speed: What it looks like, what it feels like for a character to do that and how it relates to our world. We're trying to make something that's for today that fans of different versions will love as well".

"I think the audience can expect to find some Easter eggs", he said. It's a brief cameo, but it may be as good as Sonic fans will ever get.

Fowler is directing the Sonic the Hedgehog movie from a script by Josh Miller.
