The "thank u, next" music video pays tribute to some of the best movies from the early 2000s: Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, 13 Going On 30, and Bring It On.

Other surprise visits include Grande's former "Victorious" costars Matt Bennett and Elizabeth Gillies, pop star Troye Sivan and Youtuber Gabby DeMartino. In a video shared on Karadashian's Instagram Story, Kris can be seen playing clips of her appearance inspired by Amy Poehler's character in Mean Girls. We don't know if we can handle that, to be perfectly honest.

It features Mean Girls' "army trousers and flip flops" girl (aka Bethany Byrd) and the singer Troye Sivan - but what is the opening sequence actually about?

Finally, her fourth ex, Mac Miller, who died in September from a drug overdose, is called an angel and is not given a page in the Burn Book.

"Thank U, Next" received plenty of attention because it is all about her exes.

Of course, Legally Blonde actress Jennifer Coolidge also shows up, reprising her role as the adorably ditsy Paulette Bonafonté. Grande talks to her about her ex's parts - a likely reference to Davidson's "big d*** energy" - and Coolidge thought she meant big front tooth.

Victorious co-star Daniella Monet pops up for a moment as a member of the red-outfitted Toros (although their outfits say "TUN" here in a reference to the track's title), and Grande's back-up singers Victoria Monét and Tayla Parx, who accompanied Grande on Ellen for now her only live performance of "thank u, next", make cameos as members of the East Compton Clovers. And she's already scored the approval of 13 star Mark Ruffalo.

But Jennifer Garner wasn't the only star to compliment Ari on her much-hyped music video.

Witherspoon, who portrayed Elle Woods in the two wildly successful Legally Blonde movies, took notice.

Big Sean is described as "so cute" and "so sweet" - and in case you can't read it, the last bit says "could still get it".
