Peel police have released the description of a man seen walking away from a Brampton apartment where a 30-year-old woman was found dead.

Hoden Said was discovered with obvious signs of trauma to her body on Saturday evening.

Const. Iryna Yashnyk, spokesperson for Peel police, said that officers were called to the residence on Hockley Path at about 7:20 p.m.

Yashnyk declined to say who made the call to police, but added that it "wasn't a random incident." 

According a police news release, witnesses have told investigators that they heard a "disturbance" inside the apartment at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shortly after, a man was seen leaving the residence on foot. 

He is described as between five feet, seven inches and five feet, nine inches tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a jacket with a fur-trimmed collar, with the hoods pulled up over his face, jeans and white running shoes when he left. 

Peel police's homicide and missing persons unit is handling the investigation.

Anyone with potentially valuable information is asked to call investigators or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
