The Lyon County Republican Central Committee (LCRCC) is holding its annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Pioneer Crossing Casino, 11 North Main Street, Yerington. No host cocktails will begin at 5:30p.m. and a buffet dinner will be served at 6:30p.m. There will be a 50/50 drawing, a silent auction, a live auction and a gun raffle. Our guest speaker is Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske and our emcee is Nevada State Senator James Settelmeyer.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada is hosting free basketball dribbling clinics for kids of all ages from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. every Saturday through Feb. 25 at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center at 1870 Russell Way in Carson City.

Drop-in clinics are open to children and teens, and participants need not be Club members.

Carson City –– Area 4-H members are on the lookout for donations of fabric/sewing notions and clean, useable household items. Sewing notions, crafting items, sewing machines, etc. are all welcome donations. Donation Days drop off location this year will be at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Office, 2621 Northgate Lane, Suite 15, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21 and 28. Please note the location change from previous years. If you have large items to donate, please call 887-2252 in advance.

Legendary artist Spice 1 will be performing this Saturday, Feb. 4 at Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor 71 S. Wells Avenue in Reno. He is donating his time to put on a benefit show that will help with the funeral costs for Ava Gray.

CASI is an all volunteer non-profit dedicated to raising money to build and equip the new animal shelter play yard and assist with spay/neuter costs for low income pet owners in the Carson City area.

The Capital City Arts Initiative announces its exhibition, "ART from WNC", at the Community Development Building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. Twenty-one student artists from Western Nevada College, Carson City, have work in the exhibit. CCAI will host an artists’ reception on Tuesday, February 7, 5:30-7pm. The free exhibition is available to the public from February 1 – March 30, 2017; the building is open Monday - Friday, 8am – noon, 1-4pm.
